Welcome to the 2009-2010 School Year. As we embark on this quest to build the Premier Center of Learning in New Orleans, we do so with enthuisiam and the knowledge that we are doing a GREAT work. We are fortunate to have the opportunity for various beginnings---new classes, new faces, new relationships, new ideas and of course---new challenges. As citizens of New Orleans, we want to see effective change in the educational system that serves our students. Therefore, we must be the change agents. This is our time to provide students with a different academic experience which promotes intellectual growth, creativity and social and moral development. The shared efforts of the administration, faculty, parents and students will result in lifelong learners and productive citizens. Crocker Arts and Technology School is a positive place for learning, where diversity is respected among faculty, students and parents. High expectations are held for all stakeholders and developing individual interests and talents of our students is priority. While speaking about how educators interact with students, Peter Block, an educator, stated; “We need to decide whether to give full service or lip service.” At Crocker, we intend to provide “full service” to our students. This means the needs of our school community----intellectual, emotional, social, physical and ethical will be met through a balanced college prep academic program. As professionals who are in demand, the Crocker staff could have chosento lend their talents to any of the schools in this city, yet they chose Crocker. Might I say; they made an excellent choice! As a member of the Crocker Family, you will be associating with a caring community where everyone is a valuable asset. Again, welcome to a new beginning, and thank you for charting this course with us. This is going to be a MAGNIFICENT school year!!!! Sincerely,
A. Charmaine Robertson, Principal
